Blogger Interview: Karl Philip Leuterio

BLOG | CLOTHING LINE | LOOKBOOK | CHICTOPIA

Do you remember when you first became interested in fashion?

Like really really interested? I think its in the year 2009 when I joined online fashion wardrobe sites like Chictopia and Lookbook. It was reaffirmed all the more when I attended Philippine Fashion Week. I was greatly amazed. I told myself that one day I’ll be part of this circle.

Tell us about yourself and how you started blogging.

I was a nurse for 3 years. It was a fun job but everyday seem repetitive. I was bored so I needed an outlet. Right now I’m into designing. I have a clothing line named PARADIGM SHIFT (paradigmshiftclothing.comwith my good friend , Mike. Also, I design RTW (ready-to-wear) shoes for a local brand Gold Dot. It’s now available on Solestruck.  I love reading blogs… fashion blogs, lifestyle blogs, etc. and when you are an enthusiast, you begin to wonder and dream more. Can I blog too? Can I write interesting things that readers would appreciate? So I started mine. I can say that blogging has become my passion. It was organic. There’s so much to blog about other than yourself. It’s like talking to an invisible audience. It’s fun. Up to now, I still enjoy blogging. It’s tiring coz it’s a one man job but since I enjoy it so much, I crave for it.

How would you define your style?

Androgynous mixed with nomad harajuku. I’m always mistaken as a gothic dresser but I just love black too much. Right now I’m experimenting with prints, textures and layers.

What other fashion blogs would you recommend?

There are many. But among them, the bloggers who inspired me immensely were Fashionsphere and Love Aesthetics. For guys, I love We Have No Style, Genetic Boi,  Style andPaul Higness.

Who, or what, are your style inspirations?

Who – Real people who have great taste in style. who have great power in influencing the young and the resilient.

Greatest fashion indulgence?

Spreading fashion magazines on your bed and reading them one by one on a lazy afternoon. Shoe shopping too. But I love having my shoes custom made. Nothing beats that. I’m lucky that I work closely with shoe suppliers. Makes it easy for me.

Where are your favorite places to shop?

Pop up shops here in manila by local young designers. One of the best experience ever.

Fashion designer/s you admire and what is it that you love about them?

Rick Owens for sticking to his guns and still making it work, Gareth Pugh – I love his kind of drama, and Rad Hourani because I think he is my soul mate. Lol. Locally, I look up to Don Protasio. I admire him so much.

If you could raid three bloggers’ closets, who would you pick and why?

Hard question!

  1. Fashionsphere – So I could experience how it feels to wear a gareth pugh jacket.
  2. Susie Bubble – OF COURSE! Her wardrobe can go a long long way.
  3. Jujiin – One of the power dressers i know here in Manila.

Finally, What is it you hope your readers get out of your posts?

Inspiration and the drive to think creatively. And be your own star.
